    Client is a leading manufacturer of the ultrasonic, vortex, differential pressure & turbine flow meters and BTU meters

    Requirements

    Client required support for both Modbus TCP and RTU in its flow meter & BTU meter devices to communicate with other manufacturer’s Modbus based devices.

    Client selected Softdel by considering its capabilities and vast knowledge base in industrial domain, in-house stack development capability (Modbus) and value-add engineering services including stack integration, porting and testing.

    Solution

    • The product platform was an Atmel MCU with FreeRTOS

    • The BTU meter application was developed in C++

    • Softdel optimized its Modbus RTU and TCP stack to fit into the available ROM and RAM

    • Softdel also implemented BACnet interface and provided the user option to choose between Modbus and BACnet at Bootup time
