  • Smart Connectivity Platform for applications in Oil & Gas industry

Client : One of the largest American Oil and Gas company

    Overview

One of the largest American Oil and Gas company (20 Billion USD, offering wide range of positive displacement meters, turbine meters, ultrasonic flow meters and flow computers.

Client envisions to roll out a new series of products that are developed for its next-gen IoT application

    Requirements

    • With the IoT vision in mind, client wanted to develop a product line architecture based reusable platform (Hardware + Software) that would support for new connectivity interfaces and the same component can be reused as “integral part” across new product lines

    • Client selected Softdel by considering its expertise and experience in automation domains, IoT/connectivity, and embedded product engineering

    Solution

    IoT Protocol Enablement (MQTT)

    • Extending support for MQTT Publish, MQTT subscribe

    • Set of new features to enable development of IoT applications

    Algorithms Implementation

    • Implementing core algorithms for sensor data processing, control algorithm, encryption mechanism for data security, and data logging mechanism

    Multi-interface support (Web, Modbus)

     • Smart Component supports embedded web server, Modbus server

    Technologies

    Value Benefits

    • Faster time to market through reusable platform software

    • Strong and consistent connectivity capability across the product line

    • Highly secured data exchange and storage (through usage of crypto algorithm)

    • Greater flexibility and ease of use (via over the network firmware upgrade and configuration)
